In order to strengthen the implementation of solutions to reduce plastic waste and plastic bags, the Institute of Strategy and Policy on natural resources and environment (ISPONRE), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is collaborating with the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to establish the “Retail Alliance to Reduce Plastic Bag Consumption” (hereinafter referred to as the Alliance) with the participation of supermarket chains and retailers in order to increase the use of environmentally friendly bags, contributing to reducing Reduce plastic waste, single-use plastic bags. Currently, there are 16 supermarket chains, retailers registered to participate and support the Alliance above.
Within the framework of implementing the Alliance’s activities, ISPONRE cooperated with Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to organize a workshop to share a plan to reduce single-use plastic bags consumption at retailers. Specific information is as follows:
