Teo Straw

Teo Straw was established in 2019 in Kien Giang, specializing in producing straws from grass, mainly grass and reed grass. The business provides an alternative to plastic straws while also contributing to providing jobs for local people in rural areas. Teo Straw Enterprise was born from the founder’s diverse experiences, from his childhood of drinking coconut water using a homemade straw made from grass to his adulthood traveling around the world and witnessed the devastating effects of plastic on the environment and human health.

Teo Straw aims to produce environmentally friendly, disposable straws to replace plastic straws by taking advantage of natural resources to create sustainable products. The enterprise’s production process is a closed cycle, strictly controlled and does not pollute water and soil during or after the production process. Because the raw materials used are wild grasses from uncultivated lands, and because these grasses have a short lifespan, harvesting causes little impact on the ecosystem. Furthermore, because raw materials account for 70% of the final product shape, energy use during the production process is also maximized. Teo Straw ensures that no waste is harmful to the environment and no chemicals are used. At the same time, water and production waste can be used for farming, thereby further promoting the circulation of resources.

After three years of operation and development, Teo Straw was able to mass produce grass straws. During the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the business successfully supplied straws to markets such as Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, etc. All Teo Straw products meet standards in the US and European markets.
