Suntory PepsiCo develops environmentally friendly products

The Pepsi 330ml plastic bottle product was launched with a new look through the application of technological improvements (regenerated plastic) for packaging (rPET). This is also a globalized development. In advanced countries, the use of products/packaging from recycled plastic (rPET) has become a new consumer trend.

Pepsi packaging from recycled plastic is environmentally friendly, has undergone strict processing and testing, and meets the standards of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam in the food industry, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), as well as meeting global standards for food hygiene and safety and sensory indicators of PepsiCo Corporation (USA).

Accordingly, Pepsi products in newly upgraded packaging do not lose convenience, still retain the unique flavor and spirit of the product as well as bring true green value to life.

Pepsi is a pioneering brand, working with the young Vietnamese generation for a sustainable Vietnamese future. Pepsi’s packaging initiative made from recycled plastic (rPET) is one of the popular trends in developed countries, making an important contribution to promoting green consumption and the circular economy.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh – Vice President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) – Chairman of Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD)

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh said: Plastic waste is a big challenge for the world in general and each country in particular. The high amount of plastic waste causes a burden on the environment, especially in developing countries with incomplete waste management systems. In Vietnam, there is an average of about 1.8 million tons of plastic waste each year, among the 20 countries with a higher amount of waste than the world average.

Therefore, this event can be said to be an important improvement, marking a milestone for sustainable development and the first step in environmental protection that a manufacturing enterprise needs to implement.
