Established and developed in Da Nang, ReForm Plastic is a social enterprise focused on solving the challenge of plastic waste by converting plastic waste into durable, high-end and applicable products through a comprehensive and circular approach with a unique and standardized process.

ReForm Plastic is working towards a world where used plastics are managed as valuable resources rather than as waste that is discarded cheaply or haphazardly. The business’s process aims to add value to waste, is easy to replicate and is cost-effective. ReForm handles all types of plastic waste, especially low-value waste such as single-use plastic products, wrapping paper, styrofoam, etc to turn them into commercially valuable boards. The boards are made extremely durable, waterproof and can replace wood for interior and construction materials.

The entire approach of this business is circular. ReForm Plastic can reclaim old products and process them into new products, and this cycle is repeated ad infinitum. ReForm Plastic aims to solve core problems throughout the entire waste value chain such as working with informal waste collection workers, combining infrastructure construction and organizing related programs , and replicate its model through social collaboration and franchising. Businesses are actively changing the way we view the resources we call ‘waste’ and are also moving towards a circular economy system.

As a technology, materials and process innovator, ReForm Plastic has built a solid reputation with partners and collaborators across the region over the past six years. Currently, ReForm Plastic has eight factories operating or under construction in six countries across Asia and the world through an innovative social franchising model. To date, the business has processed more than 150,000 kg of low-value plastic through factories around the world; produced more than 1,000m2 of boards and built six waste collection and classification points in Da Nang and Hoi An cities.
