Environmental messages are recreated by OU students through fairy tales

“An old fairy tale” environment-loving version

Recognizing the importance of propagandizing water resource protection and protecting the marine environment along with responding to Vietnam’s Sustainable Development goals, OU students used fun and humorous drawings to fairy tales to create something new and unique. The Legend of Watermelon, The Little Mermaid… are fairy tales that are very familiar to everyone’s childhood. Now they have been given a new color by students with witty details and environmental protection messages included in the plot.

The excitement of integrating fairy tales into environmental protection has attracted the attention of young people today, showing us a new perspective on environmental protection issues, especially is to protect water resources and protect the marine and ocean environment.

Join Mai An Tiem to rescue water sources

OU students based on the context in “The Legend of Watermelon”, sketching the image of Mai An Tiem searching for a way to save the withered watermelon fields. Besides, it also seeks to overcome water pollution caused by humans overusing pesticides, disposable plastic products and non-biodegradable plastic bags.

Through that, OU students also propagate goal 6 of Vietnam’s Sustainable Development which is “Ensure adequate and sustainable management of water resources and sanitation systems for all” with the following criteria: such as not wasting water resources in daily life, not polluting water resources.

 

Listen to the sound of the ocean with Ariel the Little Mermaid

Coming to the vast sea, OU students recreated the reality of pollution of the marine and ocean environment due to human impact through the fairy tale “The Little Mermaid”. With a witty storytelling style, the students also included in the story goal 14 “Conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development” in Sustainable Development of Vietnam. Thereby, propagating messages to protect the marine and ocean environment such as preventing ocean and sea environmental pollution; exploit and rationally use marine resources; conserve marine ecosystems; Reduce plastic waste at sea.

 

 

In addition to propagating environmental protection messages, OU students also organize minigames and competitions so everyone can participate and learn more about environmental issues. This is also a playground for students to unleash their creative thinking and show young people’s concern for the environment.
