Circular economy (CE) is currently becoming a common development trend globally and is considered as one of the priority focuses in national development policies of many countries around the world towards sustainable development. The Law on Environmental Protection (LEP) passed by the National Assembly on November 17, 2020 specifically addresses the content of CE development (Article 142). Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Government detailing a number of articles of LEP 2020 stipulates criteria, roadmap and incentive mechanism for CE development. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and provincial-level People’s Committees in, formulating and submitting to the Prime Minister for promulgation a national action plan to implement CE.
“Viet Nam Circular Economy Forum 2022: Net Zero Emission – From Commitments to Action” will be held in Ha Noi on June 28, 2022 with the participation of Government Leaders , ministries/sectors, development partners and the private sector with the aim of promoting CE implementation in Viet Nam. The forum will include plenary sessions, thematic sessions and exhibitions on CE (Forum Agenda below).
