Circular Economy and the Role of Chemistry and Chemical Industry

Products of chemical industry are present in all industries, from production stages or in factories to food production. The industry is characterized by a wide variety of products that can cater to all other industries. Therefore, many country’s resources have been exploited by the chemical industry, from minerals, oil and gas to products, by-products and even industrial and agricultural waste. It plays a very important role in a country’s economy.

 

MOIT in collaboration with UNDP, MONRE and Chemical Society of Vietnam (CSV) to organize a high level workshop to explore Circular Economy opportunities in chemistry and chemical industry, to minimize the use of natural resources, optimize the use of input materials and reduce risks to the environment. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 13.00 – 19.00, offline and online

 

At the workshop, beside the discussions on legislation frame of Circular Economy in general and approach in chemical industry in Viet Nam in particular, private sectors will also share their comment, commitmence and plan to apply Circular economy models during production process. Strategic principles and targets with indicators for the implementation of circular economy in chemical industry in Viet Nam will be discussed and also implementation plan for future activities for this sector.
