Content

The session features the launch of  the OECD Issue Brief on Extended Producer Responsibility! The paper was elaborated in a joint effort by the GAP for EPR and provides policymakers with a synthesis of the current implementing experience with the EPR policy approach. It includes guidance by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN) network, the European Union (EU), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and the PREVENT Waste Alliance.

In this session, you will also gain insights into recent EPR related developments, both internationally and nationally, by focusing on specific country examples. In a panel discussion, representatives from selected countries will share and discuss their experiences with implementing EPR and with its contribution to strengthen material circularity in their countries. They will highlight their key strategies to overcome the challenges that they have been facing.

Furthermore, the session will introduce the Global Action Partnership (GAP) for EPR to interested stakeholders worldwide and will identify opportunities for accelerating EPR systems that the GAP for EPR can provide. This event is an accelerator session at the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 (WCEF 2024).
