EPR in Vietnam, first introduced in the Law on Environment Protection, and enforced subsequently since January 2024 under Decree 08, amended by Decree 05 (effective January 6, 2025) and Decree 48 (effective January 29, 2026), represents a cornerstone policy in the country’s transition towards a circular economy. It aligns Vietnam with global efforts to shift from a linear “take-make-dispose” model to a more resource-efficient and sustainable system. While EPR has undoubtedly contributed to Vietnam’s broader circular economy objectives, a number of practical challenges have emerged that may affect the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the EPR system.
Agains this backdrop, the hybrid event aims to equip businesses with actionable insights to navigate compliance requirements effectively, while fostering a shared understanding between regulators and industry on practical implementation pathways. This session is designed to provide businesses with clear guidance on navigating Vietnam’s evolving EPR framework, combining regulatory insights with practical considerations from implementation.
