Content:
The negotiation process for the Global Plastics Treaty (GPT) was officially launched in 2022, with the goal of thoroughly addressing the plastic pollution crisis. After four intense negotiation sessions, the greatest expectation is that this process will conclude successfully by the end of 2024 in South Korea. As the standing body of the Treaty Negotiation Task Force, Vietnam’s MONRE has been working closely with UNDP through NPAP and PE to organize the technical workshop “Bridging Perspectives towards the GPT”. This event is a continuation of previous consultation workshops held in 2023 and 2024, demonstrating Vietnam’s continuous efforts to contribute to this important negotiation process.
Event objectives:
- Share the results of the INC-4 Negotiation Session from members of the negotiating delegation.
- Share information related to issues of interest at the Mid-term Meeting in August 2024 and the content of participation in the Mid-term Meeting.
- Share perspectives on some negotiation contents (Workshop Program attached).
