Seminar on Single-use plastic products and their impact on health

The Plastics and Health Action Partnership (PHA) Network was established in December 2021 with the participation of more than 20 domestic and foreign individuals, organizations, and companies interested in plastic pollution and its negative effects on human health and the surrounding environment.

From February 15, 2022 to March 15, 2022, the Institute of Strategy and Policy on natural resources and environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Dutch Embassy in collaboration with the International Organization for Conservation of Nature in Viet Nam (WWF Viet Nam), the National Plastics Action Partnership (NPAP), the Goethe-Institute and other plastic waste reduction partners organized the media exhibition “Plastic tale of river” at the Goethe-Institute, 56-58-60 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi.

Within the framework of the above exhibition, PHA organized a seminar with the theme: “Single-use plastic products and their impact on health”, with specific information as follows:

The main objective of the Workshop is to raise awareness of the public and policy makers about the impact of single-use plastics on health. The workshop also aimed to call for action to reduce the consumption of single-use plastics, towards elimination by 2030 according to the roadmap determined in Decree 08/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Prime Minister on Guidelines for the Implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. The workshop will also have a discussion session on how to use data and research results to communicate behavior change and advocate for policy, thereby including in the action plan of the PHA in the future with potential partners from the workshop.
