Competition: “Finding Green Creative Startup Talents” – Circular Economy Technology Village Techfest Viet Nam 2022

1 – Background

The National Startup Support Center (NSSC) in collaboration with the Circular Economy Technology Village and Viet Nam Circular Economy Hub held the contest “Finding green creative startup talents” with the message “Sharing knowledge – Creating innovation – Growing sustainably”, in response to Decision No. 1658⁄QD-TTg approving the “National strategy on green growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050”, aiming to reduce the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions per GDP; developing green economic sectors; promoting green lifestyle and sustainable consumption; as well as Decision 687/QD-TTg 2022 Project of circular economy development in Viet Nam.

The contest “Finding green creative startup talents” is an activity in the series of TECHFEST Viet Nam 2022 events, focusing on two main areas:

  • Promoting the circular economy
  • Reducing plastic waste pollution, as a solution to reduce ocean plastic pollution.

The benefits of participating in the contest include:

  • Total cash prizes up to 20 million VND for high school students/college students, 100 million VND for startups
  • Supported by major media units: Viet Nam Startup TV, National Startup Support Center NSSC and media agencies such as paper and electronic newspapers.
  • The project has the opportunity to participate in “National Innovation Startup Day TECHFEST 2022”.
  • Have the opportunity to work directly with advisors, investors, experts in the field of startups.

2 – Participants

  • Startup groups of provinces/cities: Inventors, innovative startups related to the contest field; there is no age limit, qualifications are studying, working in the provinces and cities; organized by organizations related to startup activities at provincial/city level (Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education and Training, Department of Planning and Investment, Youth Union, Women’s Union, etc.), the contestants introduced by the provinces/cities.
  • Startup groups of Institutes/Schools: Lecturers, students, researchers from institutes, universities and colleges nationwide have innovative projects and startups related to the contest field.
  • Other startup groups: Members of associations, clubs, teams, groups related to innovative startups nationwide.

3 – Competition areas

  • Reducing plastic waste pollution, as a solution to reduce ocean plastic pollution.

Note: Encourage contestant groups to create breakthroughs in the development of ideas and contest projects, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the country. In particular, are application solutions related to technology and digital transformation.

Deadline for the reception of applications for the Preliminary Round: Before August 31, 2022 for online applications. Hard copies of documents received before September 15, 2022, according to postmark.
