The theme of the webinar centered on the crucial role and historical evolution of PROs in the implementation of EPR in Germany, Norway, and Korea, along with customized recommendations for Vietnam.

The webinar provided an overview of international experiences, presented and discussed the proposed indicators for the CE NAP in Viet Nam.

The report entitled Circular Economy in the City: A Rapid Ethnographic Research on Circular Economy in a Philippine Urban Setting highlights the urgency to shift to a more circular economic model in the Philippines due to the burgeoning problem of unsustainable production and consumption. The report informs us about the advantages of the circular economy: it could help in preventing biodiversity loss, fighting climate change, and addressing the waste problem with potential to provide green novel jobs. We can see the gravity of the situation in the Philippines, as it named the third largest source of discarded waste – bulk of which is plastic waste that ends up in the ocean.

This document is a common reference and provide an overview of the Indonesian Government’s efforts in implementing a circular economy that supports low carbon development and its contribution to
achieving development targets, both at the national and global levels.

Accelerator Lab UNDP in Viet Nam, in partnership the Japan Manned Spaced Systems Corporation (JAMSS) and the Da Nang Institute for Socio-Economic Development (DISED), has been conducting a 2-phase feasibility study since February 2021 on the application of remote sensing (satellite imagery) technology to municipal waste management to inform Da Nang City’s Circular Economy Roadmap

 The first webinar hosted by the Viet Nam Circular Economy Hub took place on December 15th and was joined by over 80 experts from Viet Nam, Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Nepal, the UK, Belgium, and New Zealand. The webinar provided different viewpoints on how trade can be harnessed to accelerate a Circular Economy transition in Viet Nam in an inclusive way and leaves no one behind.

In 2020, UNDP Accelerator Lab collaborated with Evergreen Labs to conduct a study on group of Informal Waste Workers in two districts of Ngu Hanh Son and Hoa Vang, Da Nang.
