Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Saxion UAS) has been working with the National Economics University (NEU) since 2006 on a capacity-building project “Professional Oriented Education” (POHE) financed by the Dutch government. Over the years, a main focal point for the Saxion UAS and NEU cooperation is to involve Vietnamese & Dutch companies in both the curriculum development as well as to set up of applied research projects.

The “Saxion-NEU Draw-Down Project”, funded by the Dutch government as part of the NUFFIC Orange Knowledge Program – Tailor Made Training (OKP-TMT) from March 2021 – February 2023, is a recent example of the cooperation in strengthening the NEU’s capacity of training on environmental management in order to accelerate the transition towards the Circular Economy.

Within the Saxion UAS experiences in curriculum development, students with a specialization in environmental management at NEU have opportunities to learn about circular business models, sustainable water (re)use, and high-value food production in their field visits to enterprises, such as An Phat Bioplastics, Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park. The interaction with real case studies of enterprises enhances students’ knowledge about the business’s real-world activities and issues.
