On 30th and 31st March 2023, the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) Asia Project will organise the GCoM Southeast Asia Regional Workshop in Bangkok.
Each pilot city from Southeast Asia will share their strategy in one of the key thematic sectors (low carbon development, adaptation, circular economy, and nature-based solutions) of their climate action plans (CAPs). Other Asian and European cities will also participate and share experiences and best practices in drafting and implementing CAPs.
GCoM Asia technical partners will also discuss the reporting methodology for Southeast Asia, and explore collaborations with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission towards aligned methodologies.
The objectives of the workshop are:
- Presentation of 12 CAPs finalised by GCoM Southeast Asian pilot cities
- Discuss challenges and solutions for CAP development and implementation
- Peer review of different reporting methodologies in South East Asia and at global level
- Knowledge Exchange between Asian and European cities
